Wouldn't it be nice if every day is a holiday?
It's been a few years since I last went on a holiday that requires me to take an airplane. Bangkok is really a heaven for shopping and eating and more shopping and more eating! You'll wonder where your money went to. There's so many changes since I last been there.
More and bigger malls to shop till you drop. (but so sad :( too many things to see but in the end didn't buy much)

Lots of food courts now with lots of stuff to eat. Mmmmm.....mango sticky rice.....red ruby.....
Wish I can stay there and holiday forever. I hate coming back to reality. But I look forward to more good holidays ahead!

Traumatizing start to a bad day
The day started badly with me traumatised by a stupid cat that dashed out of the lift I was waiting for. And I was still wondering why is the 13th floor cat meowing away when the lift door opened and a deranged cat dashed out of it and gave me A LOOK. I suddenly panicked and as fast as my legs can take me, I dashed up 2 floors. So much for traumatised, my legs were jelly all the way to work.
When I came back from work I cautiously looked around and thought that the stupid cat finally went away. But my fears were revived when my student told me she saw the cat on the floor above mine!!! How stupid can animals be?????? Get themselves trapped in a lift and couldn't make their way down. Dumb. Arrgghh....ok I'm still traumatised by it no matter how I dumb I thought the animal is. Someone SAVE me!!!!!!

random thoughts 1
Yay! The network is up and running again! T'is the season for burning PC parts. Last week is my power supply, this week is the modem, I wonder what's next.
Anyway that MIA student who's suppose to be taking O levels exams this end of the year decided to turn up again. *Groan* Just great! When I'm enjoying my life I have to take up such stupid things. No pay, waste of time, I don't see any benefit to me. Oh wait, maybe I'm accumulating some good karma from giving all these free tuition? hahaha.
Well I found out that in the meantime she went missing for the past few months, she got MARRIED!!! OMG......and she's only like, 18? And her husband (find it so strange to address her bf as her husband now) is only like 25? A childcare teacher earning $1000 a month, married to a VCD shop assistant! How's that for headlines? Or is that something common in their world that we don't understand? But what kind of quality life is this? Will they be happy in future or regret it big time? Happily married forever or end up in divorce? Somtimes I feel that they are not helping themselves by getting into the same cycle their parents went through. The problem just propagates till somewhere down the chain one of the descendants decide to do the right thing for once but till then, the problem persists.
But anyway she's freaking lazy, not that I want to condemn her. She had school holiday in her childcare for more than a month but yet she didn't do anything useful with it. What is she expecting? She thinks that I'm a miracle worker? That I can produce results by trying to help her cram in 1 year worth of work into 2 months? It's just so not going to happen. She can go sit for the exam but passing poses a difficulty. Maybe if she really start revising all her waking hours but I don't know how much of her time is she going to invest in studying since she claims she has endless housework to do at home.
Frankly, seeing people like her makes me realise that life is difficult out there. No matter what kind of rosy picture the government try to paint, they're just leaving people like her out of the picture. 3 years teaching in a neighbourhood school, really opened my eyes to the below-average household in Singapore. They face one thousand and one problems everyday of their lives! How they get by is a miracle. I count my blessings that I don't have to go through a difficult path.

Strange work culture at the new workplace
After half a year here, I still don’t understand why every week there'll be a day where all my colleagues decide to not come to work. Recently it’s more prevalent, with the team down to 3 people again today. -_-“
Since last week the 3 of us came to realise that recently there’s always just the 3 of us going for lunch only. 2 contract staff and a recently converted regular. Actually a lot of my work is redundant without me they can still function just take on a bit more stupid work only. Does that mean the team can actually function without so many staff in the first place? Having more staff just means that people have more time to slack. Not a prudent business model if you ask me. Strange work culture.......

Movie: Singapore Dreaming
Should have known better than to go and catch a sub-standard local production. Run-in-the-mill ideas such as nasty maids vs nasty employers, 5 Cs, stiking lottery, blah blah blah. You mean there is nothing else to characterize Singapore besides these? Long ago when Jack Neo made movies like that it probably strikes down to the hearts but years down the road I think people are sick of watching recurring themes. For goodness sake, find something new to show your fellow citizens.

PC vs Warranty
Sometimes you wonder why does your PC die on you the moment your warranty expires. There’s this strange correlation between a working PC while the warranty is still valid and PC breakdown when the warranty expires. Kudos to the people who fix PCs up to breakdown the moment your warranty expires. I wonder how do you actually time it so well?
So this blog comes to you live from the desk of mine at work. It’s not easy trying to blog at work. First you would have to sneakily try to type in a word document before trying to login to Blogger to post it up. Not an easy feat, on a busy day.
Well, back to the problem PC, for a long time I’ve been suspecting that it’s going to conk out on me because I heard strange noise coming from the CPU but I’ve chosen to ignore it and now it has burnt out on me. Serves me right. Luckily I have a handyman to repair it for me =P Hopefully it will be back up and running again tonight!

Aging
OMG......I pulled out my third white hair in less than a week!!!
I first discovered my first white hair about 10 years ago when I started on my first temp job and a colleague pulled it out of my head. (Hmm....I'm surprised I still remember this....definitely a sign of aging - I remember things long ago but forgotten what has just passed) Who knows there's more to come over the years and this year is the most I have discovered so far!This is bad....
P.S.: wanted to post this at work but then unexpectedly work cropped up! how unusual......=P

How I started my blog
I started this blog all because I had loads of free time in the office. One of the new things I picked up is to blog! That's so cool coz I didn't have time to go explore such stuffs in the old job but now I get to learn new stuffs! Ain't it great? Now I shall make it a point to blog frequently haha
